Matthew Pac was born in Connecticut on April 30, 1988 and passed away on June 20, 2005 at the age of 17. Matthew had a rare type of cancer (Rhabdomyosarcoma).
Matthew was a very special person who cared for so many people. He was a wonderful son, brother, Grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He had so many things still to do.
Matthew was very fortunate to have a great group of friends whom he cherished. The one thing that Matt learned very quick, was his love for music. Uncle Dan taught Matt how to play the drums and he would play so loud my ears would nearly fall off! Matts real love of music started when he was on a visit with his grandma (Sibella Dawny). Dawny had an old acoustic guitar that she had asked Matt to play, at first he said no, Then she persisted. Once again, Matt was hooked. Needless to say, we found ourselves buying him his first guitar, then 2nd and finally third.
Matthew would hear a song and then suddenly, he would be playing it without lessons. Soon Matt and his friends formed a band. The members of his band (Sean,Tony,Dustin and Tim) became an important part of his life along with his life long friend Kyle. I know Matt would want his band & his friends and Family to continue to be Happy!
Matthew also met a girl (that i believe) was the one! Her name is Sam. though they had a short while together, they just seemed to have connected. she will always be special!
Matthew Had a great team of doctors and nurses and social workers at the Connecticut childrens medical center that he cherished along with us. We thank you (Dr. Hagstrom, Emily, and Mary among so many others) for doing everything you could do, to save Matthew's life. In the end, I know Matthew Loves ( and I say loves because, He still lives on, in each and everyone of us)
During his illness, Matthew also became interested in readings of the bible. Uncle Ray just started to read scriptures and soon Matt was hooked again, this time with the Lord. Other family members soon joined in.
